Glounreagh Loop

Glounreagh Loop
Enquire

This trail begins at the small farm known as King’s Yard. Here, you can park your car right at the start of the trails and grab some snacks in the small shop on site. This lovely little base also offers teas and coffees for weary walkers on their return, and there are even bathrooms complete with showers on site.

Follow the red arrow markers for the Glounreagh Loop, which starts at King’s Yard trailhead and heads up into the Galtees. Once the initial 160m climb from the farmyard is completed, the walk levels out. As you stroll out onto the open hillside, the Glounreagh river will be on your left at the bottom of the valley. From the bridge, the path skirts the other side of the valley, where you’ll find yourself a lot closer to the river. From here, continue following the black markers along the forest tracks back to the trailhead.
